Rapper/actor Ice Cube has urged fans of his Friday film franchise to bombard his co-star Chris Tucker with messages on Twitter.com to convince the comedian to sign on for another sequel.

The 1995 cult favourite, about a pair of street-smart slackers, spawned two sequels and helped to launch the hip-hop star as a movie mogul.

Ice Cube is currently writing a new installment of the fun comedy, a follow-up to 2002's Friday After Next, and he's eager to get Tucker on board too.

During an appearance on US TV's 106 & Park earlier this week, he said, "Everybody twitter (sic) Chris Tucker and make sure he's in this movie. We want him back, we want him back. Everybody just let him know how much we love him in Friday, you know... He gotta (sic) come back for his fans. I'm gonna write him in there and hopefully he'll do it.

"If he wants to be a part of it, we got open arms for him."
