Independence Day: Resurgence review

Independence Day: Resurgence review

The sequel to '90s blockbuster Independence Day has arrived in cinemas, 20 years after the first invasion.

Jeff Goldblum is back, alongside some fresh new faces targeting a whole new generation.

Brace yourself -- the aliens are back. Independence Day 2016 is here, and this is Resurgence.

Goldblum is back as scientist David Levinson -- I love that -- while Liam Hemsworth is the new kid on the block, disgraced pilot Jake who will team up with Levinson to take on this new invasion.

They'll have lots of help of course, including from the former Mr President.

Then pretty much cue up the computer, and let the CGI roll.

Here's my advice: Google reviews for the first one, and expect exactly the same with better special effects, more characters and even less brains.

Two stars.
