Is this bag blue or white? That's the question dividing opinion on social media, in a debate to rival the striped dress controversy of 2015.
The Kate Spade purse has even spawned its own hashtag, #MyBag, to match a similar hashtag given to the white and gold (or was that black and blue?) dress when that went viral last year.
The new debate erupted when user @whyofcorso tweeted a picture of the handbag with a caption that read: "Everyone say hello to my new baby".
That sparked a response from @Mr_Bingo_Little, who commended her bravery for choosing white, presumably as it's a colour that easily marks.
The original poster kept her response simple: "It's blue."
What do you think?
The original poster's tweet gained worldwide attention, garnering 2347 likes and 437 retweets, as the internet attempted to solve the mystery.
Responding to a barrage of criticism and indignation regarding her claims that her new handbag was actually blue, @whyofcorso felt compelled to provide evidence of her purchase.
Another user posted a secondary photo of the same bag, to verify that it indeed was 'Mystic Blue' - not white.
The bag looks clearly more 'Mystic Blue' than white in this picture (Twitter)
So, while it's clear the photo was perhaps just poorly lit - or for the cynics among us, deliberately posted to mislead the masses - it hasn't stopped the debate raging on.
