Former LCD Soundsystem star James Murphy has been tapped to compose the music for Hollywood couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz's upcoming Broadway play.

The actors, who are married in real life, are set to share the stage in Mike Nichols' revival of Harold Pinter's Betrayal during a limited 14-week run at New York City's Ethel Barrymore Theatre.

According to Vulture.com, Murphy has been brought on board to contribute a score for the drama, which happens in reverse chronology and centres around a man whose wife is having an affair.

Betrayal will open on October 27.

Murphy has been keeping busy since LCD Soundsystem disbanded in 2011 - he is producing Arcade Fire's next album and has also recorded with Andre 3000.
