Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement has joined the cast of Steven Spielberg's The BFG, an adaptation of the Roald Dahl children's book.
Clement joins a cast including Mark Rylance, Bill Hader, Ruby Barnhill, Adam Godley, Jonathan Holmes, Penelope Wilton and Rebecca Hall.
The film will centre on a young girl who teams up with the Queen of England and the Big Friendly Giant (aka BFG) to fight off a group of man-eating giants threatening the human world.
Starting out as a musical comedian in New Zealand, Clement has gone on to star in a broad range of films including Men in Black 3, What We Do in the Shadows, Dinner for Schmucks, Muppets Most Wanted, Gentlemen Broncos, Diagnosis: Death, Eagle vs Shark and Predicament.
The BFG is slated for release next year.
