British soul singer Joss Stone is happy to share her music online for free as long as fans are listening to a good quality copy of her record.

The 'You Had Me' hitmaker is gearing up for the release of her first album for three years, Water For Your Soul, later this month but bootlegged copies are already available online.

Stone is adamant she does not care about fans gaining access to her music without paying but is urging them to seek out a good quality download to fully appreciate her efforts.

She tells British magazine Event, "I don't care about people getting music for free as long as they are listening. What bothers me is if people are listening to bad-quality recordings of music. The bootleg version of my album has the worst sound quality. That kills me.

"You work really hard, you get everything absolutely right and you want people to hear this sound you have created - the real thing - not a bad version of it. It has to be the real thing."
