Justin Bieber has cleared up collaboration rumours surrounding him.

The singer said that despite reports of a potential mash-up between him and British boy band One Direction, there are currently no plans to team up.

The teenage heartthrob is currently promoting his latest single Boyfriend and added that while his new album is finished, if any groups want to work with him they can always ask.

“Collaborations? Well actually I’ve done my album and if One Direction want me on their album they have to ask - but my album’s already done. I think they’re good, they’re definitely talented and they’re doing their thing,” he told BBC Radio 2 before joking that legendary rock group The Rolling Stones have asked to work with him. “Again, [about a collaboration with The Wanted] my album’s done but if they want me on their album they can ask and I’ll go now. The Rolling Stones? I think they have actually just asked me to do something…”

While Justin put an end to reports of teaming up with the two British groups, he insisted he doesn’t feel threatened by their US success.

The 18-year-old said that he has in fact hung out with both bands and they get on well.

“I don’t see One Direction as competitors; they’re a group. The Wanted is a group [too] and I’m a solo artist, so it’s a whole different thing and they’re my boys. The Wanted, One Direction, they’re cool and they’ve come over to my house and hung out. We talked, hung out by the pool and just chilled out,” he said.
