Lindsay Lohan will reportedly have her probation formally revoked.

The troubled 26-year-old actress is accused of falsely telling investigators she was not driving after she totalled her rented Porsche when she rear-ended an 18-wheel truck on the Pacific Coast Highway in June.

TMZ reports that she will be charged for lying to police soon.

A Santa Monica City Attorney will file the criminal charges in court and the case will be overseen by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Jane Godrey. Judge Godrey is rumoured to be planning to revoke Lindsay's probation related to her jewellery theft case.

Judge Godrey believes Lohan's dishonesty is a clear violation of probation and the magistrate will set a full hearing on the matter.

The criminal case against Lindsay will be officially submitted in the near future.

Lohan has been arrested several times before and earlier this year was named a person of interest in a jewellery theft. She was later ruled out of the case.

The star was also accused of being involved in a New York City hit and run in recent months.
