The highly anticipated Auckland City Limits (ACL) festival’s final line-up was released last week, but there is still space for one more band to make the bill.

ACL's organisers are asking local artists to submit videos of their music, and the most popular band will open the festival on March 19.

The line-up already consists of 40 acts including hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar, The National, Modest Mouse, Girl Talk, and Fat Freddy’s Drop.

Promoter Campbell Smith says they’re looking for a "mind-blowing" act to open the festival.

"We want to see what people can do in a two-minute video to show us how much talent they have and what lengths they're prepared to go to in order to win this slot."

The competition will run throughout February and details can be found on the ACL website.
