Kiwi songstress Lorde has made the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart.

Her hit 'Royals' has moved from 12th to 8th position, ahead of the likes of Lana Del Rey and Daft Punk.

Katy Perry has roared to the top of the chart, ending Robin Thicke's summer-long reign at number one.

Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' spent 12 weeks on top, but now Perry has returned to number one with 'Roar'.

Lorde's 'Royals' remains at number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart for the fourth week in a row and supplants Dragon's 'Radioactive' atop the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart.

Meanwhile, Disney darling and Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez has performed a cover of  'Royals'.

Video has been posted online (embedded below) of Gomez covering the single at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam.

Lorde is performing at Auckland's Vector Arena this Saturday at a free iHeartRadio concert.
