A documentary charting the Manic Street Preachers' recent years is set to hit cinemas.

The movie, titled No Manifesto: A Film About Manic Street Preachers, follows the Welsh rockers from 2005 onwards, capturing them backstage on tour and during recording sessions, as well as interviews with fans.

Director Elizabeth Marcus says of the project, "I didn't want to make a typical rock doc - a chronological story... The Manics' aesthetic is to be a collage... I wanted to make a film like that - one that looks and feels more like a scrapbook than a narrative.

"And I wanted to make the fans a big part of it because it was largely the fan community that had inspired my enthusiasm for the band."

The film is set to premiere in the band's native Wales at the end of the month before it is released to select cinemas across the UK throughout February and March.
