Matt Damon pranks LA Bourne-style for charity

As part of a promotion raising funds for a clean water charity, actor Matt Damon has put unsuspecting civilians into a Jason Bourne-style prank.

In a video published by Omaze, Damon recruits members of the public in a Los Angeles park using a mobile phone and CCTV cameras.

The Omaze promotion is benefiting Water.org, a charity that provides safe water and sanitation to places that lack it.

Three out of four participants in the video take on the secret mission after being approached by a man who thrusts them a mobile phone commanding them to "answer the call".

By the end of the prank, the Damon-abiding citizens meet him in person, where he hugs them and gives them tickets to the Jason Bourne premiere.

The film, directed by Paul Greengrass, also stars Alicia Vikander and Julia Stiles, and is set for a release later this month.
