Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have made their first public appearance together since rekindling their relationship earlier this year.

The couple reportedly looked very much in love with each other at Variety's Power of Women luncheon in Los Angeles on Friday (local time).

The co-stars of The Last Song got back together in January after splitting in September 2013, shortly after Cyrus' raunchy 'Blurred Lines' performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

At the Power of Women event, Cyrus was honoured alongside Scarlett Johansson, Ava DuVernay, Laverne Cox and Helen Mirren for her advocacy for homeless and LGBT youth.

Hemsworth was reportedly by her side the whole night.

"She wrapped her arm around him and leaned her head against his shoulder," a source told E! News.

During her speech at the event, Cyrus described presidential nominee Donald Trump as "villainous".

"Standing here with so much attention on Happy Hippie and our ambition to break the cycle and stigma surrounding homeless and LGBTQ youth came with a lot of ideas about the overwhelming and even terrifying responsibility that comes with power," she said.

"Maybe it's because of the villainous vibes that surround power and the poor examples of how too many leaders abuse it. Yes, that's for Donald Trump.

"I just want to say to anyone who has ever felt like they're different or they don't fit in, I want you to take that victory and feel like you're not alone. I'm wishing for peace and love on our planet because hate and war has gone on way too long."

Although Cyrus and Hemsworth are frequently spotted together, this was their first public appearance as a couple in three years.
