Miley Cyrus slammed over stroke joke

Miley Cyrus is under fire from stroke charity advocates over an ill-advised joke during hosting duties on US sketch show Saturday Night Live.

The controversial star has angered bosses at Britain's Stroke Association after her appearance on the series over the weekend, when she said she kept poking her tongue out because she "keeps having mini-strokes".

The remark has now received a response from charity bosses, who slam Cyrus for mocking stroke victims.

Stroke Association's Patrick Olszowski says, "Having a mini-stroke is no laughing matter. Around 46,000 people in the UK have a mini-stroke each year, with one in ten leading to a major stroke.

"Sticking out your tongue is not a sign of having a stroke, having a stroke is a serious medical emergency."
