The stars of Pacific-themed Disney animated film Moana have released a new clip, in which the demigod Maui shows how pedantic he is about his title.

Make that titles.

Maui, voiced by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the film, insists on having a series of titles to rival that of Game of Thrones character Daenerys Targaryen in the clip.

Man-splaining his name to titular heroine, Maui asserts he should be addressed as "Maui, Shapeshifter, Demigod of the Wind and Sea, Hero of Men and Women."

The video was shared on star Auli'i Cravalho's Facebook page and Johnson's Twitter.

To actually beat the Westerosi royal's title, however, Maui's would have to be longer than: "Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khalisee of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons."

In the clip, the sassy Moana isn't having a bar of Maui's pompousness - bringing it to a quick end with a slap of her oar.

Moana is set for release on Boxing Day in New Zealand.
