EA’s SimCity, set for release in March 2013, has been developing a lot of hype since it was announced earlier this year.
The new SimCity features multiplayer support with multiple cities across a region. But players don’t have to run just one city each – they can become the mayor of multiple cities in a region whether playing by themselves or with others.
“Once you play with multiple cities, you can’t go back. You won’t want to go back because it’s so much fun to play that way,” says Jason Haber, producer at Maxis, developers of SimCity.
Recently I caught up with Haber to discuss multi-city play, disasters, what is recognisable of the classic SimCity in the latest version, options for competitive multiplayer and creativity versus functionality.
