They might be more at home on the rugby field, but Dan Carter, Richie McCaw and Ali Williams are putting their weight behind a new charity single.

The All Blacks have brought together a collection of New Zealand musicians including Stan Walker, Jackie Thomas, Moorhouse, Annie Crummer, Clara Van Wel and Boh Runga to record 'A Song for Everyone'.

Profits from the single will go to the For Everyone Charitable Foundation, which Carter, McCaw and Williams established in 2009 to help New Zealand communities with achieve small projects like fixing a playground or changing shed, resurfacing a school pool or BMX track, or adding hoops to a basketball court.

"We got some of our best artists and leaders in their chosen field on board with the Foundation through 'Song for Everyone'," says McCaw.

"Thank you to all those who gave the project their resource, time and talent, for free. What an awesome team!"

Sony Music partnered with the foundation to produce the song, which was written and co-produced by R&B artist Vince Harder.

"'Song for Everyone' will mean everyone in New Zealand has a chance to be part of what we are doing, by supporting it," says Carter. "Vince and the team have created something that we find inspiring - for all New Zealanders, all ages, for everyone."

'A Song for Everyone' is available digitally now and will be on sale at selected retailers later this week.
