Australian model Miranda Kerr's security guard has shot a man in the head on her Californian property after being stabbed in the eye on Friday morning (local time).
The intruder allegedly tried to make his way into Kerr's Malibu ranch by climbing a fence, but was spotted by the guard and responded by plunging a knife just beneath his eye socket.
The guard retaliated by firing several shots at the intruder - including one to his head, which has reportedly left him in a critical condition.
Kerr lives at the property with her five-year-old son Flynn, but she was not home at the time of the attack.
The incident occurred at about 11:15am on Friday (local time), and both men were airlifted to a Los Angeles hospital to receive treatment.
The pair are expected to survive despite their injuries.
