The Bachelor NZ finalist Naz Khanjani has walked out of an interview with Story host Heather du Plessis-Allan after a question about whether New Zealand women would be rooting for her opponent.

Du Plessis-Allan was interviewing Khanjani ahead of her boxing match against Mai FM DJ Lily Taurau on Thursday.

"Do you think the women of New Zealand are going to be rooting for Lily to hit you?" asks du Plessis-Allan.

"Um, possibly there is going to be team Naz and team Lily," Khanjani replies.

"There is a team Naz? Is it big?" says du Plessis-Allan.

"I don't know. I can't count so, how am I meant to answer that question."

"You can count Naz."

"I can't count how many people are team Naz, sorry."

Du Plessis-Allan then asks Khanjani to throw a few punches for the camera, which she complies with before storming out moments later.

"Ah, I'm going to take it easy I don't want to injure myself... I don't like how this interview went," Khanjani says as she walks away.

Khanjani and Taurau will fight on the undercard of Joseph Parker's heavyweight bout with Solomon Haumono in Christchurch.
