Raunchy pop star Rihanna and British royal Prince Harry have marked World AIDS Day by taking an HIV test together in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The 'Rude Boy' hitmaker and Harry had blood taken from their fingers, then waited around 20 minutes before receiving their negative results.

The pair took the test on Thursday (local time) for the Barbados National HIV/AIDS Commission's Man Aware event, which highlights the importance and ease of testing and aims to reduce the stigma of HIV.

Rihanna teased Harry for wincing as his test was conducted.

"Oh, that's not bad," she said, turning to Harry after her finger was pricked.

"You made it seem like it hurt. It's not as painful as you said this morning."

Harry, 32, persuaded the 28-year-old singer to take the test with him when they spoke backstage the night before at a concert to celebrate Barbados' 50th anniversary.

Rihanna, who was born and raised in Barbados, turned up in a Jeep she drove herself and reportedly wasn't noticed for a few minutes after she arrived.
