Ryan Gosling is in final negotiations to star in the upcoming Blade Runner sequel.
The Drive star is poised to team up with Harrison Ford, who will be reprising his Rick Deckard character in the much-anticipated movie.
Gosling's role has yet to be revealed.
Prisoners director Denis Villeneuve will take charge of the sequel, while Ridley Scott, who directed the original sci-fi thriller, will serve as an executive producer.
The original Blade Runner was set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles and is regarded as an iconic, dark sci-fi classic.
Gosling is currently working on The Big Short alongside Brad Pitt and Christian Bale, an adaptation of the Michael Lewis best-seller about the 2008 financial crisis.
He is also reportedly in talks to star in in Guillermo del Toro's film being adapted from Disney theme park attraction Haunted Mansion.
