Sarah Jessica Parker has apparently cut back on work to make time for her husband.
The 48-year-old Sex and the City star is married to Matthew Broderick and they have son James and twins Marion and Tabitha, who were born via surrogate.
She's kept a relatively low profile over the past few years and it's reportedly due to the fact that she wants to see more of her 51-year-old partner.
"Sarah and Matthew have been through some tough times. A while back Sarah told pals she was going to cut back on her career plans to make more time for her marriage," a source revealed to British magazine Closer.
"She hasn't been taking on the big film roles lately, preferring theatre and fashion work instead as they don't take her away from her family as much. She and Matthew have really turned a corner and are happier than ever."
Sarah and Matthew have been married since 1997 but in 2008 their relationship was rocked by rumours the actor had had a three-month affair with a 25-year-old youth worker.
It's said to have happened while Sarah was working the Sex and the City movie, but the pair remained tight-lipped about the allegations and managed to get back on track.
"They had to sit down and recognise that there were problems, but they both felt that they wanted to save the marriage," the insider continued.
"Now, they are happier than ever. They've taken a step back from their hectic schedules to make sure they don't grow apart, like before."
Last year the actress addressed her marriage for the first time since the affair rumours.
"I love Matthew Broderick. Call me crazy, but I love him," she said at the time.
"We're very devoted to our family and our lives. I love our life. I love that he's the father of my children, and it's because of him that there's this whole other world that I love."
