Aside from Split Enz, no other band has had more singles on the Top 40 chart than Shihad.

This year marks the band's 23rd anniversary. The milestone brings on a new documentary which explores the band's success.

The band's documentary includes lead singer Jon Toogood visiting the high school where it all began.

“I got expelled once when I spray painted ‘AC/DC rules’ on the third level toilet wall, even though I was right because AC/DC does rule,” says Toogood.

Shihad has released nine studio albums and enjoyed popularity here and across the ditch.

The band recently received the ‘Legacy’ award at last year’s New Zealand Music Awards.

The documentary will be released at the end of the year.
