When 18-year-old Samuel Verlinden replied to an advertisement in a student newspaper, he had no idea where that email would take him.
Mr Verlinden thought he was applying to be a part of a music video involving a group of volunteer students.
But when he arrived at the location he couldn't believe his eyes.
Mr Verlinden had been selected as part of an ANZ campaign to support up-and-coming talent, and was told his song had been chosen as the winner of their competition, and superstar dancer Parris Goebel was going to feature in a music video for the song and, it was all paid for.
Mr Verlinden's school report card reads like a dream. He was a senior prefect at St Peter's College and has worked with Amnesty International.
He started singing from a young age and even appeared on Sticky TV.
He's currently studying a Bachelor of Communications at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) where a scholarship has his education paid for three years.
Mr Verlinden spoke to Newshub this morning about working with Parris Goebel, and the importance of young Kiwi's chasing their dreams.
