Snorlax sparks stampede in Taiwan

Thousands of people who appear to be stampeding through Taipei may have been chasing a rare Pokémon.

Pokémon Go has taken each region in the world by storm as it launched, and Taiwan was no exception.

It's believed the swarm was filled with players looking for a Snorlax near Beitou Park, a character usually found sleeping in inconvenient locations.

Footage posted to social media shows the crazed gamers ducking and weaving through traffic on their hunt.

It's enough to put the pressure on police - they've reportedly enlisted the help of a third party app, Go Radar, to help track where players will turn up, and have amped up manpower to control the crowds.
