Sony has released the first full trailer for their latest big screen version of Spider-Man, with Tom Holland in the lead role as Peter Parker.

The trailer debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the US and features Parker getting an upgraded costume from Tony Stark's assistant, Happy Hogan, played by Jon Favreau.

The trailer ends with Iron Man and Spider-Man flying through the air together.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is the third first Spider-Man film released recently, following Spider-Man in 2002 and The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012.

Those films featured Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield respectively as the radioactive web-slinger, and each spawned their own sequels, with varying results among critics and at the box office.

Spider-Man: Homecoming marks the feature-length return of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Holland was first seen as Spidey in Captain America: Civil War, and has signed on for at least three feature-length Spider-Man movies, as part of six Marvel appearances in total.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be in cinemas in July, 2017.
