Pop star Taylor Swift dramatically falls flat on her face while running on a treadmill and rapping to a Drake song in a new advertisement for Apple music.

The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker released the video on April Fools' Day through her social media accounts, joking it is "based on a true story".

In it, she puts on headphones and peruses the Apple Music library before choosing the track 'Jumpman' and beginning the treadmill run.

Excitedly and somewhat clumsily, the 26-year-old gesticulates with animated hand movements while singing lyrics such as: "Jumpman, jumpman, jumpman, them boys up to something / They just spent like two or three weeks out the country".

As she sings the line "I hit the Ginobili with my left hand up like woo!", Taylor swiftly loses her footing and face-plants -- ending up in a heap on the floor.

The advertisement ends with the words "Distractingly good" displayed, followed by the Apple Music logo.

Apple Music focusing on Swift in a promotional video comes less than a year after a public spat between the two, when the 'Blank Space' singer accused the company of not paying artists for music used in a three-month free streaming trial for subscribers.
