The 58th annual Grammy Awards have been held in Los Angeles, with Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran winning their first awards.

There were plenty of incredible performances, including an epic tribute to David Bowie from Lady Gaga.

Taylor Swift shot the video for 'Out of the Woods' in New Zealand, and her love affair with the country no doubt led her choice of opening song for this year's Grammy Awards.

The pop princess walked into the ceremony already a winner, having won Grammys for Best Pop Album and Best Music Video for 'Bad Blood' before the awards kicked off.

For the millions watching, the Grammys are as much, if not more, about the performances as the awards, and there was certainly something for everyone -- except Rihanna and Adele fans.

Rihanna was a last-minute no-show, but if there is one guy in the room without a job next year it's the soundie, as poor Adele bravely pushed through her early technical issues.

There were of course tributes aplenty this year. The Eagles played for their fallen comrade Glenn Frey, and then there was Gaga, for Bowie.

And then there were some awards. Ed Sheeran won his first ever Grammy, presented to him by one of his idols -- Stevie Wonder.

Sheeran didn't stop there, though. His song, 'Thinking Out Loud', also won him a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Kendrick Lamar brought the house down for a standing ovation, also collecting multiple Grammys on the way, including Best Rap Album and Performance.

But when it came to the tears, this time it was from Meghan Trainer, winning Best New Artist.
