Voice actor Nolan North may have let slip that a sequel to The Last of Us is in development, though developer Naughty Dog has not announced anything.

"I know they're doing The Last of Us 2," North said during a Q&A session at MetroCon, when asked if he was doing any projects with Naughty Dog aside from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. He didn't offer any other details on the game, aside from the fact that he's not involved.

A sequel to The Last of Us was also raised during another Q&A last weekend, this time with voice actor Troy Baker (Joel in The Last of Us) at Indy Popcon. Baker said that he doesn't know anything about a new, but that if there is one, he'd trust the Naughty Dog team "to tell a story that needs to be told."

In February last year, The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann told Eurogamer that the team was "brainstorming some stuff", including sequel ideas. Later that month he said during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit that the chances of a sequel were "50/50".

Since then, Naughty Dog has released The Last of Us Remastered for PlayStation 4 and The Last of Us: Game of the Year Edition for PlayStation 3, as well as a standalone version of the story DLC, entitled Left Behind. The studio has been quiet on the prospect of a sequel, however.

During his MetroCon talk, North also revealed that eight months of work on Uncharted 4 had been scrapped when former creative director Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog, and that Hennig's new Star Wars game with Visceral would be "in the style of Uncharted." .
