Thor mockumentary shows what he did during the Civil War

More than a year before its release date, New Zealand director Taika Waititi is already creating hype around Thor: Ragnarok.

Marvel Studios has released a mockumentary on what life was like for the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) while the rest of the Avengers were busy in their own conflict in Captain America: Civil War.

The short film was first shown at the San Diego Comic Con mid-2016, but has only just been released to the world via Marvel's Twitter page.

So just what was Thor doing while the Avengers were fighting? He was hanging out in Australia with his flatmate Daryl Jacobsen while enjoying some "me time".

"I guess I just wanted to be around average everyday people and Darryl is your average everyday sort of guy," he explains.

Sadly for Thor, neither Tony Stark nor Steve Rogers tried to contact him, despite his efforts with Daryl to send "electronic letters" or emails as they are more commonly known.

His slightly out-of-touch approach to the 21st century was confirmed when Thor sat down with Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) for a coffee and he said "I don't have a phone - send a raven."

The humour is classic Taika Waititi, and if this a sign of what is to come, theatres will be full to the brim come November 3, 2017.
