Nazis, medieval knights and Dinobots all feature in the first trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight, along with the return of Optimus Prime as a reluctant villain.

Sir Anthony Hopkins narrates the two minute clip, talking about man's persistence in waging warfare throughout history, before Mark Wahlberg takes centre stage.

It ends with Optimus Prime asking for forgiveness before seemingly murdering Bumblebee, as Wahlberg's character yells.

Michael Bay, the successful filmmaker behind Pearl Harbour and The Island, is once again in the director's chair for this fifth entry into his enormously lucrative Transformers franchise.

Teenager Isabela Moner appears to be in a similar role as those of Megan Fox, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Nicola Peltz in the preceding films, none of whom are returning for The Last Knight.

Other cast members include Stanley Tucci, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro.

Transformers: The Last Knight is set for release in June, 2017.
