Movie lovers are being offered triple features, Doctor Who on the big screen and advance screenings of Epic this Queen's Birthday weekend.
The three sets of triple features are being billed as movie marathons and take place at Event Cinemas Queen St this Sunday night, starting at 11pm.
The films being played in each triple feature are as follows:
Two episodes of Doctor Who Series 7 are playing on Saturday night as a special presentation - 'Asylum of the Daleks' followed by 'The Angels Take Manhattan'. More information is available at the Event Cinemas website.
Animated film Epic isn't due to open in New Zealand until July, but advance screenings are taking place this weekend at Event and Hoyts cinemas. The film stars the voices of Beyonce Knowles, Steven Tyler, Colin Farrell and Aziz Ansari.
New releases out this week include action blockbuster Fast & Furious 6 with Vin Diesel, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez, along with New Zealand film Shopping which won praise at the Berlin and Sundance film festivals.
