Pop star-turned-fashion designer Victoria 'Posh Spice' Beckham refused to kiss her husband David while he was sporting a thick beard.
The former Spice Girls singer gave the soccer legend, who is known for his trend-setting style, an ultimatum after seeing photographs of his heavy facial hair last week.
During an appearance on chat series The Late Late Show, which aired in the US on Monday, David Beckham explained that he eventually relented and agreed to trim his beard for the sake of his marriage.
He tells the show's host, British actor/comedian James Corden, "(Victoria said), 'There's no way I'm kissing you unless you shave that off'. I left it for a day and I was like, 'You know what I'm going to have to do it.'"
Despite Victoria's hatred of the beard, David insists his daughter Harper was a fan, adding, "My little girl would just sit there and mess around with it."
During his appearance on the show, Beckham also filmed a spoof underwear commercial showing off his trim figure with Corden posing alongside him sporting a more plump frame.
