Video: First look at Pokémon Sun and Moon

Pokémon trainers, brace yourselves -- it's time to begin your next journey.

Nintendo has released a first glimpse into the world of Pokémon Sun and Moon, based in the new Hawaiian-inspired region of Alola.

And included in the video is what everyone has been waiting for -- which Pokémon will accompany you at the beginning of your journey to become the next Pokémon master?

The games split off from tradition slightly with Rowlet, a little owl-inspired Pokémon, beginning its first evolution as a dual-type -- grass and flying.

While often the starter Pokémon evolve into a dual-type, it's the first time one has started off that way.

The standard type-advantage triangle continues with Litten, a cat-based fire type, and Popplio, a sea lion-based water type.

The video also shows a glimpse of the newest legendaries added to the Pokédex -- their names remain unknown, but a lion is paired with Sun and a giant bat is paired with Moon.

The full cover-art for both Sun and Moon has also been released.

Visually, the new games fit in well with the 3D rendering of Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the previously-released games on the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS consoles.

Sun and Moon will be the first games set in a new region since X and Y in the Kalos region, released in October 2013.

For the first time, players everywhere will be able to choose from nine languages to play in. The choices are Japanese, English, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Pokémon Sun and Moon will be released everywhere except Europe on November 18 -- they'll have to wait until November 23 to get their Poké-fix.
