Pop star Justin Bieber has stormed off stage during a concert in Manchester, England after the crowd refused to behave exactly as he wanted.

The Canadian 'Baby' singer took the drastic action over the weekend after commanding his fans to stop screaming.

"I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love, I appreciate the kind things," Bieber said.

"But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you. I don't think it's necessary when I'm trying to say something and you guys are screaming."

Unhappy with the response he got from those who were paying money to be there, Bieber then tossed his mic away as he walked off stage, only to return a short time later and get on with it.

Last week Bieber also demanded his fans lower the sound of their appreciation for him during a concert in Birmingham, telling the crowd there to "take a chill pill".

TMZ reports the 22-year-old singer thinks himself deserving of the same respect that Adele gets from audiences and is trying to "train" his fans to behave how he wants them to.

Bieber is scheduled to wrap up the UK leg of his tour in London on November 29.
