The US Air Force has relaunched the Space Fence, a radar which tracks space pollution to predict potential collisions.
It went out of commission last year because the system failed to catalogue even a fraction of the debris.
The new space fence will be able to track more and much smaller pieces of debris, which should prevent more collisions with satellites and other space-bound objects.
However, the system is not doing enough according to some critics, who believe a plan needs to be created to remove the space pollution.
