Two massive tornados have swept through the western region of Japan.

No injuries or damages were reported.

Japanese broadcaster Fuji TV showed dramatic footage of a large tornado over the ocean in Wakayama Prefecture.

According to the meteorological agency, the tornado lasted about 10 minutes and disintegrated before arriving on land.

Tornadoes are relatively rare in Japan and the agency has issued further warnings of strong winds, lightning and tornados.

Around the same time as the tornado developed in Wakayama, a smaller tornado was witnessed in Ishikawa Prefecture after a hail storm and lightning shook the town.

Strong winds are expected to persist and the flow from western Japan is expected to continue pushing cool air into the northern regions, causing unstable weather.
