Officials at Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic have released video of the rare birth in captivity of two Sumatran tiger cubs.

The tigers were born over the weekend.

The video shows the two cubs in their first hours of life tottering about on unsteady newborn paws and rolling around.

The cubs' mother arrived just a year ago at the Zoo from France and was soon paired with a male in the hope they would bear offspring.

The new cubs have not been named yet and the names of the parents weren't given.

The Prague Zoo said there are only an estimated 300 Sumatran tigers left in the wild.
