A New Zealand artist has painted a picture of Prime Minister John Key dead, slumped up against an alleyway.

The painting shows a disheveled Mr Key lying dead next to a half-eaten apple and partially-drunken bottle of wine.
He has a red rose on his pants and his wallet is splayed open.
Sam Mahon has uploaded the image to his website as part of an interactive game called Who Killed John Key?
Viewers can use interactive video clues to determine Mr Key’s killer.
Mr Mahon says the picture is not offensive because it is a “metaphor” and intended to make its audience feel “uncomfortable”.
"All art is expression and metaphor and the job artists have is to make people feel uncomfortable. Now once you've made people uncomfortable you've got their attention. And once you've got their attention you can begin to change their mind," he told the Sunday Star Times.
