Curran questions Govt's TV funding priorities

A political battle is brewing over what we watch on the box, and who should pay for it.

The Government has previously announced an $850,000 assistance package to help regional stations make the transition from analogue TV to digital.

The digital switchover will be completed in late 2013.

But Labour's Clare Curran is questioning why the Government's supporting regional TV, while axing TVNZ7.

Ms Curran is supporting a Facebook campaign aimed at reinstating TVNZ7 and locking-in public funding of TV stations like it.
