Former MP David Garrett is breathing a sigh of relief this morning that police have decided he will not face charges of misleading a court.
Mr Garrett resigned from Parliament late last year when it was revealed he failed to tell a court that he had an assault conviction in Tonga in the 1980s.
In an exclusive interview on RadioLIVE this morning, Mr Garrett said it has been a difficult time of late - but he does not hold any grudges against police over their lengthy investigation.
“It was very unpleasant, yes. Ironically, though, I understand, having lived and worked in Tonga, that it would have been difficult to obtain information and get things done,” says Mr Garrett.
