National's bold policies to spend more on the country's infrastructure and bring in another round of tax cuts have been rubbished by the Prime Minister.

Helen Clark has described the National party’s financial plans as “nuts”

John Key has announced if in government, his party will boost spending on infrastructure by $500 million a year - and he will borrow to fund it.

Further tax cuts are also his priority, saying the country can afford it.

Not surprisingly the Prime Minister disagrees. Clark says running up debt at this time of international crisis is ridiculous. She spoke to Sunrise.
