Kerry Bevin and Jack Gielen are two of the main leaders within the New Zealand Republican Party and are both outspoken in their views about the royal family.
For Mr Bevin and Mr Gielen, New Zealand is not a democratic country while its head of state is an unelected royal, and they call for a constitution.
Republicanism is not the only passion held by Mr Bevin, founder of the party and former member of Fathers for Justice, he is also protesting against the treatment of men in the family courts and high rates of suicide for males.
In this extended interview the pair outline their motivations for protesting to 3 News.
