Biography
Andrea Hewitt is one of New Zealand's most successful triathletes with an array of career achievements.

The 31-year-old has one Commonwealth Games medal to her name, after winning bronze in 2006, and just missed out four years ago in Glasgow, finishing fourth.

She is currently ranked fifth in the world by the ITU, with 37 podiums and 10 wins to her name. The Christchurch-born product has had recent success on the Gold Coast, when she won the Queensland leg on the international circuit last year.

Hewitt's first triathlon was in 2005 in New Zealand, where she was crowned U23 world champion. She learnt to swim at age four and competed in swimming competitions from age six.

At 11, she joined the South Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club and represented New Zealand in 2001 in that sport.
