Kung Fury, the hit martial arts short film featuring time travel, dinosaurs, Vikings, Hitler and David Hasselhoff, is to get a sequel.

Director and star David Sandberg has used the first anniversary of the '80s-inspired film's release to announce the sequel: Kung Fury II The Movie.

He posted a shot of the script, wrapped in a red headband, on Instagram.

The original Kung Fury was funded through Kickstarter. It told the tale of Kung Fury, a detective in 1980s Miami, who quits his job after being partnered with a Triceratops.

After a time-travelling Adolf Hitler -- also known as the 'Kung Fuhrer' -- murders his former boss, Kung Fury decides to get revenge, and embarks upon a journey through time with the help of his friend, Hackerman.
