There are more than 50 to choose from, including Einstein on the cover of Time magazine - which named him person of the 20th century - Einstein playing the violin, Einstein writing equations and even Einstein admitting he doesn't have a clue.

Greenlight, the company which owns the rights to licences Einstein's image, admits EinsteinMojis probably won't rival Kim Kardashian's range on the iTunes and Google Play charts.

"She has defined this industry in some ways," he told Scientific American.

"But how many college kids have an Einstein poster on their walls? This will help bring him even more firmly into the world of pop culture."
