Former Bee Gees star Barry Gibb has cancelled his upcoming show at Vector Arena, citing "a change in international commitments".

The singer was going to play his first Auckland concert since 1999 in April, 2017, and is unable to reschedule, so refunds are being offered.

"Barry Gibb and Live Nation regret the disappointment to ticket holders," the promoter says.

Customers seeking a refund after buying a ticket in person must return to the same outlet with the ticket, the credit card used to purchase it and photo ID.

Phone and online purchasers will have their credit card refunded automatically, but may have to wait up to 10 days.

Gibb was in New Zealand four years ago, when he headlined the Mission Estate Concert as part of his Mythology tour.

His last performance in Auckland was with the Bee Gees at Western Springs in 1999.

Gibb's 2017 Australian concerts have also been cancelled.
