Victoria Beckham, fashion designer, businesswoman and iconic former Spice Girl has penned a letter of advice to her younger self for British Vogue.

Formerly known as Posh Spice, Beckham writes about  feeling like she was "not the prettiest, or the thinnest, or the best at dancing" as a young woman. But the thick skin she developed then would pay off later.

Fashion faux pas and plastic surgery regrets

Beckham tells her younger self to wear less make-up, tone down the hairspray and "don't mess with your boobs". She says the PVC catsuits, chokers and weird spiky hair will "appear ridiculous". She regrets her boob job, which she initially denied having, and tells her young self to "just celebrate what you've got".

Taking bold career moves

"Do answer an ad in The Stage, looking for candidates to form a new girl band," she writes of the audition that made her a Spice Girl. "One day you will find that audition performance again online, and at the same time discover that your name brings up 47,800,000 search results on Google."

The Spice Girls were formed in 1994 and went on to sell 75 million records.

Hard times

Things will not always be easy, Beckham tells her younger self.

"You will often be so busy that you will be in a different country every day," and "you'll complain and sit in hotel rooms and moan about being tired". She alludes to the tension that arose between the Spice Girls, saying "we didn't fully appreciate each other a lot of the time".

On love and marriage

Beckham writes of the moment she met David Beckham.

"While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family."

At the time she was the more famous one, and he had not yet made his career break. She married David in 1999 and the power couple now have four children.

On married life, she writes: "Have patience. Bite your tongue. Be supportive. And preserve a bit of mystique. Never let yourself go completely."

Beckham has built up a net worth of over $300 million, according to Forbes. After the Spice Girls split she moved on to a solo singing stint and became a stalwart of the fashion industry, serving as a model, designer, and trendsetter.
