The first photos have been released from the set of the sequel to Love Actually.

The 10-minute short, Red Nose Day Actually, is being filmed for broadcast in the United Kingdom on March 24 - Red Nose Day.

Emma Freud, the script editor of the original film and partner of writer-director Richard Curtis, tweeted pictures of Liam Neeson and Thomas Brodie-Sangster filming on London's South Bank.

Freud said she'd felt emotional at the reunion: "Might have cried a tiny bit," she wrote.

Neeson and Brodie-Sangster play stepfather and stepson Daniel and Sam. Sam's childhood crush Joanna (Olivia Olson) also returns - Freud revealed last year that young Sam's mercy dash to the airport at the end of the 2003 film paid off, and the pair ended up together.

Also confirmed to return for the sequel are Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke and Rowan Atkinson.

Freud also revealed the script was still a work in progress, asking fans on Twitter for any story developments they wanted to see.
