The cast of Moonlight are the models in Calvin Klein's latest undies campaign, released just a day after the film's stunning underdog victory for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Mahershala Ali, Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders and Trevante Rhodes have been unveiled as the faces of the fashion label's (northern) spring 2017 men's underwear campaign.
The black and white photos, taken by Willy Vanderperre, are among the first advertising images unveiled since Calvin Klein chief creative officer Raf Simons and creative director Pieter Mulier were jointly appointed in August, 2016.
Their first campaign was launched in the lead-up to New York Fashion Week earlier this month and much was written on the company carrying out a "rethink" of the brand, offering a more elevated, artistic way of promoting their products.
The new campaign is easy to read as an extension of that.
"Since the beginning, Calvin Klein's underwear imagery has always made big statements about masculinity," Mulier said in a statement.
"The performances of these actors in Moonlight affected us deeply and made big statements about masculinity in a different way. Somehow we wanted to bring the two together."
Hibbert, Sanders and Rhodes were all dressed by Calvin Klein for the Academy Awards ceremony, as was fellow Moonlight star Naomie Harris.
